The Center for Empowerment, iNnovation and Training on Renewable Energy (CentRE) is a multi-stakeholder association composed of renewable energy practitioners, experts, and advocates from the academe, renewable energy industry, and civil society. The CentRE serves as a hub for knowledge exchange, policy research and development, advocacy, piloting and technical services, and capacity building aimed at accelerating the Philippines’ transition to renewable energy.
Through its Renewable Energy (RE) Academy, the CentRE delivers structured learning programs for individuals and institutions interested in renewable energy and sustainable energy development. The RE Academy aims to broaden the base of renewable energy practitioners and advocates while strengthening institutional capacities across the public and private sectors.
The CentRE conducts capacity-building programs for local government units, private sector practitioners, financial institutions, academic institutions, and civil society organizations engaged in the energy transition. It partners with LGUs, electric cooperatives, private sector and or people’s organization in localizing renewable energy and just energy transition.
The CentRE serves as co-convener of the Responsible Energy Initiative in the Philippines (REI-PH) and co-leads its secretariat.
